Caerphilly’s bid to become the UK’s first-ever Town of Culture
Caerphilly is bidding to become the UK’s first-ever Town of Culture, and we are inviting Caerphilly residents and businesses to help shape a vision for the town’s future.
As part of a new national competition launched this year, one visionary town will be selected as UK Town of Culture for 2028 and receive £3 million to start a year-long programme of cultural celebrations. Cynefin Caerffili is holding a series of events under the initiative “Calon Caerffili" for the people of Caerphilly to take part in the creation of the cultural programme, which will be submitted in the competition bid on 31 March 2026.
