ARTIST OPEN CALL: NEW FOSSEWAY ROAD, BRISTOL
Ginkgo Projects is seeking to commission an artist living in South West England to undertake research, design, fabrication and installation of permanent works of art for a new residential development at New Fosseway Road, Bristol, with a focus on the central Social Playable Park area.
The selected artist will undertake an offsite residency-based commission, working with the client project team and local partners to develop permanent, site-specific work(s) integrated into their setting.
The creative focus is on meeting, informal play and biodiversity enrichment, with the work intended to create interest, spark joy and encourage play or interaction. Partnership working and collaborative design methods should be central to the residency.
Applications from artists and makers who have emerging but limited experience of working in the public domain are encouraged to apply.

Interviews: Morning of Tuesday 29 September 2026
Residency / commission: October 2026 – June 2027, with artwork installed for construction completion by the end of June 2027

ARTIST OPEN CALLS: HENGROVE PHASE I
Ginkgo Projects is seeking to commission two artists living and working in South West England to develop permanent works of art for a new residential development at Hengrove Phase 1, Bristol.
The commissions will be developed through offsite residencies, with artists working collaboratively with local communities and the project team.
Applications from artists and makers with emerging or limited experience of working in the public realm are encouraged.
TEMPORAL THREADS
A residency exploring the past, present and future narratives of Hengrove and its surrounding communities.
CREATIVE HABITATS
A residency exploring the relationships between people and nature, with work responding to the development’s landscape and biodiversity.
