Urban Sanctuary

As part of the development of the Stills Gallery in Edinburgh, artist Nathan Coley contributed to the design decisions throughout the development process. He also created a book that contained a series of questions that related to a virtual building project ‘Urban Sanctuary’.
The virtual sanctuary was proposed and developed through interviewing eight different individuals, all associated with building use design. Nathan developed a series of questions that explored individual sanctuary and the forms that this may take. His project explored issues surrounding how architecture meets the needs of the individual and how those needs change over time.
