Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries – Toby Paterson
Toby Paterson has recently installed his Cluster Relief (Dunfermline Remnant), a sculptural aluminium relief as part of a series of public artworks made especially for Dunfermline’s Town Centre by the artist from 2014 to 16. The colour palette has been developed to reflect both its surroundings within the new Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries and the artist’s experiences of exploring Dunfermline’s streets and buildings.
The new library and galleries were designed by Edinburgh based architect Richard Murphy.
Toby Paterson frequently works outside the context of conventional galleries, an approach that reflects the inspiration he finds in the built environments that surround us. Cluster Relief (Dunfermline Remnant) was produced by Ginkgo Projects for Fife Council.
