Working Well: People and Places, A Therapeutic Design and Art Strategy
The New South Glasgow Hospitals are the largest capital healthcare project in Scotland and form the keystone in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s (NHSGGC) Modernisation Strategy. The new Adult Acute Hospital and Children’s Hospital will lead the way in excellent, modern healthcare for Scotland.

The therapeutic design and art strategy and programme has been developed by Ginkgo Projects Ltd working with two strategy artists. Focused on wayfinding and the healing environment, we are seeking to provide innovative design and art-led projects that will enrich the experience of staying, visiting and working in the new hospitals.
A series of major projects will be advertised over 2011-12. The strategy can be downloaded here.

If you are interested in this programme please register on the NSGHproject.com website under Business > Business Registration. Please complete all relevant information, but if you do not have a Registered Company Number/CHAS Registration, please complete as much as you can.

Graphics Project:

We want children and young people to help shape the environment of the New South Glasgow Hospitals by working with artists and designers to develop graphics for the new Children’s Hospital.

Utilising a residency format the artists and designers will work with children and young people, supported by specialist Age Appropriate Care and Play staff, at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital to develop graphics which will be applied a range of identified spaces in the New Children’s Hospital that forms part of the New South Glasgow Hospitals project,

The individuals/teams will agree a programme of work in Yorkhill over 2012-2013 and deliver the final graphics into the new hospital in 2014. This is a vital element of the Working Well, People and Spaces Therapeutic Design and Art Strategy for the New South Glasgow Hospitals.

Applications are invited from lead artists or teams of artists and designers. Four (4) residencies are currently planned with a total budget of £100,000 ex vat including fees, all materials and installation costs.

The brief is available to download HERE.

The deadline for applications has been extended to 5pm Monday 27th February 2012 . Electronic submissions only to chris@ginkgoprojects.co.uk
