Local Artist Bursary is Awarded to Josephine Corcoran
One of six local artist bursaries funded by Bloor Homes has been awarded to local artist Josephine Corcoran as part of the ‘Frames of Reference’ project, part of the public art commissioning programme for the King’s Gate development in Amesbury. The other artists who have been awarded the bursary are James Aldridge, Alex Hoare, Francesca McLean, Linn O’Carroll and Jo Taylor. The bursaries will fund the artists to make a new piece of work, supporting the them in developing his or her own practice whilst responding to the themes set out within the brief.
Corcoran is using the bursary to write some new poems in response to the landscape and heritage of the area in and around Amesbury. Her initial research has included exploring Holly Corfield-Carr and Ginkgo Projects’ publication Loop in the Landscape, as well as a visit to Wiltshire’s heritage sites including Woodhenge and Figsbury Ring.
