Abbey Crescent gets the go ahead

The Abbey Crescent scheme, inspired by the 'Riviera style' has received planning permission in Torquay, South Devon. The project, designed by architects Kay Elliott, is situated in a prominent, south-facing, coastal location overlooking Tor Bay. Ginkgo Projects has designed the public realm and art for this project.

Cecil Balmond selected to develop border crossing project at Gretna with Charles Jencks

Ginkgo Projects' sister company Wide Open (South Scotland) Ltd has announced that Cecil Balmond has been invited to develop his proposal for The Star of Caledonia, which celebrates and explores the border crossing into Scotland at Gretna. Cecil has been chosen to work with internationally renowned architectural critic, land artist and designer Charles Jencks to realise an ambitious large scale project of integrated sculptural form and landscape.

Royal Terrace Gardens is finalist in RICS Awards

Royal Terrace Gardens has been announced as a finalist in the 2011 Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Awards South West. The project was included in the Community Benefit shortlist, and was commended by the judges as: “a much valued additional public facility in an important location on the seafront. This scheme was entirely funded by Torbay Council who are to be commended for committing funding to this scheme in difficult times. An impressive outcome.”
