Gloucester Public Art strategy

Artist(s): Natalie Woolf
Client: Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company

The use of creativity in regeneration helps to create and sustain urban competitiveness and revitalisation through the enhancement of local distinctiveness and civic pride. Ginkgo worked as part of the masterplanning process with urban designers Terence O’Rourke to place the role of public art practice at the heart of this major £1billion programme of creative renaissance of Gloucester.

‘A Place for Art’ sets out the key areas of influence that the role of public art and artists should play in the regeneration of the city and the mechanisms by which projects can be effectively delivered. It concentrates on seven areas of the city and linkages between them. Visual artist Natalie Woolf worked with Ginkgo to curate and develop the creative programme.
